To become a Member of PropBar, you will need to certify that not less than 50 percent of the work that you undertake in the course of your practice as a barrister in the last year concern property or property-related matters. The charge for Membership of the Association is £100 per annum, cheques should be made payable to "Property Bar Association". At present we are unable to accept electronic payments.

To become an Associate Member of PropBar, you will need to have been in practice as a Barrister for less than 5 years and certify that you genuinely intend and are taking steps to develop a practice specialising in property or property-related work. The charge for Associate Membership of the Association is £35 per annum, cheques should be made payable to "Property Bar Association". At present we are unable to accept electronic payments.

"Property work" is defined by the Constitution of PropBar as work within the following codes used by the General Council of the Bar for England & Wales to identify areas of practice: A3, C3, C7, C9, C14 and L1. "Property-related work" means work which is closely related to one or more of those areas of practice.

A3 - Agriculture; C3 - Chancery; C7 - Commercial Property; C9 - Common Land; C14 - Conveyancing; and L1 - Landlord and Tenant
