Junior PBA Speed Mentoring

Date: 3 November 2020

Start time: 6pm

Duration: 1.5 hours

As a new term starts, the PBA is pleased to announce a speed mentoring event for JPBA members (being members of 10 years’ call and below), starter tenants (including those who are not yet PBA members) and pupils and third six pupils, taking place virtually via Zoom.

We encourage members (especially pupil supervisors) to share this event with their pupils and starter tenants. The event will be an opportunity for JPBA members, starter tenants and pupils to ask questions from mentors as well as chat informally to other junior members of the association.

2020 has been uniquely difficult for members of the Association, especially for many of our junior members. With many of us still working from home, it can be more challenging than before to find opportunities to talk to somebody about career development or problems, and seek advice.

This event will provide JPBA members with that opportunity, in a private and confidential setting and in a time efficient way.  So, whether you are interested in learning from others about how to develop your practice, have difficulties you are trying to navigate, or if there is something else on your mind, please do sign up.

The session will begin with a brief introduction about the benefits of and how to get the best out of mentoring. Each mentee will be paired with two of our mentors, who will speak to the mentee for 15 minutes each, privately and confidentially in break out rooms. While waiting for their mentoring slots, mentees will be able to chat with other junior PBA members in the main waiting room (or take the time to make a cup of tea!).

The mentors for this speed networking event are:

  1. David Holland QC, Landmark Chambers
  2. Joanne Wicks QC, Wilberforce Chambers
  3. Brie Stevens-Hoare QC, Hardwicke
  4. Caroline Shea QC, Falcon Chambers
  5. Tiffany Scott QC, Wilberforce Chambers
  6. Tim Calland, Maitland Chambers
  7. Kavan Gunaratna, Enterprise Chambers
  8. Gemma de Cordova, Tanfield Chambers
  9. Faisel Sadiq, Hardwicke
  10. Rupert Cohen, Landmark Chambers
  11. Amy Proferes, Serle Court
  12. Isabel Petrie, Selborne Chambers

There is no charge for the event but space is limited.

If you would like to attend, please email enquiries@propertybar.org.uk, expressing your preference for up to 3 mentors.

Attempts will be made to allocate mentees to their preferred mentors.
