Junior PBA Speed Mentoring 2021

Date:  Tuesday 19 October 2021
Time:  6 – 7.30pm
Location:  Zoom

With a new term approaching, the PBA is pleased to announce that it will again be running its speed mentoring event. All members are welcome to sign up, with JPBA members (being members of 10 years’ call and below), starter tenants (including those who are not yet PBA members) and pupils and third six pupils specifically encourage. The speed mentoring event will take place virtually via Zoom.

We encourage members (especially pupil supervisors) to share this event with their pupils and starter tenants. The event will be an opportunity for JPBA members, starter tenants and pupils to ask questions from mentors.

Feedback from 2020’s mentees includes:

“A great way to pick the brains of more senior barristers in an informal setting and get the (candid!) benefit of their experience – something I have certainly missed over the past year”.

“My two mentors were excellent. I greatly appreciated their individual warmth and interest […] It was delightful. I felt inspired.  They also gave very helpful advice in a complementary way. One provided the strategic view, the other the nitty gritty. I would recommend PBA’s speed mentoring.”

“I thought the session was excellent. My two mentors were lovely and both really helpful”.

“It was a great opportunity and I feel like it was really useful and worthwhile”.

Mentees will have the opportunity to pick the brains of other practitioners, in a private and confidential setting and in a time efficient way.  So, whether you are interested in learning from others about how to develop your practice, have difficulties you are trying to navigate, or if there is something else on your mind, please do sign up.

Each mentee will be paired with two of our mentors, who will speak to the mentee for 25 minutes each, privately and confidentially in break out rooms.

The mentors for this speed networking event are:

  1. David Holland QC, Landmark Chambers
  2. Brie Stevens-Hoare QC, Gatehouse Chambers
  3. Caroline Shea QC, Falcon Chambers
  4. Tiffany Scott QC, Wilberforce Chambers
  5. Tim Calland, Maitland Chambers
  6. Kavan Gunaratna, Enterprise Chambers
  7. Faisel Sadiq, Gatehouse Chambers
  8. Simon Allison, Landmark Chambers

There is no charge for the event but space is limited.

If you would like to attend, please email enquiries@propertybar.org.uk, expressing your preference for up to 3 mentors.

Attempts will be made to allocate mentees to their preferred mentors.
