With the Law Commission’s consultation paper on reform of the 1954 Act expected by the end of the year, the PLA and PBA are hosting a panel debate to explore the pros and cons of the existing regime and how far (or not) the Law Commission should go in recommending reform.

The debate will be chaired by PLA President and Upper Tribunal Judge Elizabeth Cooke with a panel of speakers from across the industry including Mark Sefton KC (Falcon Chambers), Lara Kuehl (Selborne Chambers), Professor Graham Chase (Chairman of Chase and Partners LLP, Chartered Surveyors and Chartered Town Planners) and Emily Carroll (Associate Professor in Law, Birmingham Law School).

Attendees will have the opportunity to put their own questions to the panel either in advance or on the day.
