Introduction

Lisa graduated from the University of Hull in 1993 with a First Class Honours Degree in Law and completed her PhD examining the law of mortgage in 1999. Having worked at Hull for nearly 25 years, she moved to the Law School at Southampton University in January 2022.

She has written extensively on the practical operation of housing possession cases and has recently completed an ESRC funded project which evaluated the court system's response to the COVID-19 pandemic in housing possession cases in England and Wales. (https://homematters.wordpress.hull.ac.uk/)

Lisa has also been awarded funding by the abrdn Financial Fairness Trust to undertake research into occupier engagement in the housing possession process. The project will starting in April 2022 and will run for 18 months.
